What does this call for projects involve?

The call for projects launched by  CNC as part of France 2030 responds to a need in the global cinema, audiovisual and&nbsp market;game video, which is experiencing unprecedented vitality and is characterized by an explosion in demand for content, driven by the development of platforms.

Projections to 2030 confirm this increase in production volume, which could double.

The aim of "La Grande Fabrique de l'image" is to position France as a leading country for shooting and digital production, in the context of the sharp increase in demand for works on the cinema, audiovisual and&nbsp. markets;game video, and the need to strengthen the sector's cultural and industrial independence.

Double production capacity and the number of graduates and trained professionals; Reduce the carbon footprint of production and position France as a leader in eco-responsible production.

This call for projects therefore brought together 3 strands:

"Talented Broadcaster's Academy, carried by INSA HdF in partnership with the Communauté d'Agglomération de la Porte du Hainaut (CAPH)

The winning project, Talented Broadcaster's Academy, associates INSA Hauts-de-France with pôle d'excellence régional en images et médias numériques d'Arenberg Creative Mine which is supported by the Communauté d'Agglomération de la Porte du Hainaut. For forty-five years, we have been offering several courses of excellence in the audiovisual field on the Mont-Houy campus: a bachelor's degree, three master's courses (Productions, Postproduction, Images and Sound System Engineering), to which has been added since 2022 the INSA Audiovisual and Multimedia Engineer title, unique in France.

For François-Xavier Coudoux, Director of the Electronics Department at INSA Hauts-de-France, "this is a tremendous spotlight that offers INSA HdF visibility, recognition, both national and international, as a major player in the digital and ecological transition of the cultural and creative industries of the future (ICC 5.0), serving students, companies and R&D."

What will this funding be used for?

Talented Broadcaster's Academy will enable the continued development of a unique tool, available to the profession but also to the higher education and research community on two campuses, the historic Mont-Houy and the Arenberg Creative Mine. The latter, inaugurated in 2015 by film director Costa Gavras, houses 1,000 m2 of studios, laboratories and equipment dedicated to film, image and sound on a site listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The budget allocated to the project as part of "La Grande Fabrique de l'image" should enable us to modernize our equipment on the Mont-Houy site, and expand the studios on the Arenberg site to meet the growing demand for filming in the Hauts-de-France region. This funding will enable us to significantly strengthen real-world training for post-production and special effects specialists, as well as production managers from tomorrow. This project is structurally in line with national and European low-carbon strategies by placing eco-design and eco-production dynamics at the heart of its educational and industrial goals.

This funding for our Talented Broadcaster's Academy project will enable INSA Hauts-de-France and UPHF to position themselves at the top European level of training in the field of broadcast engineering, and the Hainaut region to strengthen its attractiveness in terms of filming and the installation of professionals.
